Summer Time

It's hard to believe July is already 1/2 finished. Seems like the summer is moving faster than I want. Sometimes I really would love to take the entire summer off of work, but my bank account wouldn't do so well then. Summer is one of those seasons that has a lot of good memories attached. Lately I've been thinking about some of the memories and wishing I could re-live them.

1. Camping as a child. Oh we had so much fun exploring and enjoying life, all 6 of us sleeping in one room. I often woke up when my parents woke up early and rummaged around for stuff, talking in low whispers. I remember "helping" dad put up the tent trailer. I'm not sure how much I actually helped when I was young. Good times.
2. Spending time relaxing and playing outside with siblings and friends during the days. A perk of being younger with no responsibilities like a job, mortgage, or other bills.
3. Being involved in summer kids club and youth leadership training at church. Those were challenging times, but super fun and energizing too. I especially loved the times we spent camping during the week of training. Time in the mountains learning so much about myself, the team, and God. Those silent retreat times were amazing!

I still enjoy summer and am trying to make new memories since it's pretty tough to go back in time.
