Beauty

The saying is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and this fall I've been stunned by the colour and vibrancy of my surroundings. I've actually decided that I'm not going to take photos of scenery this fall because I want to really enjoy it rather than always looking for a good angle or seeing only a part of it through the camera. Besides, I think I took enough photos over the summer to make up for it.

Last week I spent almost the entire week sick on the couch, and didn't open my blinds until Friday. That was when I noticed the colour of the trees outside my living room window. They were vibrant red, and when the sun was shining on them, they were that much more beautiful. Then on Saturday afternoon I just had to open the blinds and windows to enjoy the thunderstorm blowing through. It was beautiful and amazing (from inside).

Nature's beauty reminds me of the words from a song...
"How can I say there is no God when all around creation calls? A singing bird, a mighty tree, the vast expanse of open sea." God's touch is everywhere!

Since I have no new scenic pictures from this fall, here are some more from summer (all taken at Cheam Lake Wetlands).

A cool view of some mushrooms
A duck swimming away in the morning light
Flowers along the path
