Recent Thoughts

Lately I've been reading in a few different books and the different concepts seem to be getting muddled in my head. There's a link, I know there is, but it's taking some time to work it through.

For instance, there is the concept of right and wrong, obedience and sin. Then there is grace and forgiveness, freedom from guilt and the law. They seem like such opposite concepts, but are so connected at the same time. This is the reality of life I guess...trying to be good and obedient but not able to on my own strength, falling down and having to be picked up again and forgiven, only to do it all over. The biggest question for me is what is my motivation for obedience? Love or obligation?

Here's a favourite quote from one book I'm reading.
"Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." CS Lewis Mere Christianity

Happy Saturday!
