Last weekend I spent time with family camping. The weather was not bad...i.e. not raining, but not super hot. It was a bit odd (and cold in the evening) without a campfire. Because there has been so little rain, the province issued a province-wide campfire ban. We ended up cooking marshmallows for smores over the propane camp stove instead. It was nice to get away from the busyness of daily life even if it was just for a few days. On Sunday I was very tempted to drive to where I could get phone service and call work to ask for another day off. But I didn't which is okay too.
It was fun sleeping in a tent (haven't done that for a long time) and cooking outside. It was also good to canoe. The water was so peaceful, and even when there was wind, it wasn't unmanageable. This was definitely a highlight for me, as well as spending time with my niece.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend.
The tents.
Weird looking flowers in the alpine meadow. I'm not sure what they are, but they reminded me of the Fraggle Rock characters.
Up in the alpine meadow. It was beautiful up there, even though there weren't a ton of flowers. You could see all sorts of mountains and grassy hills.
The water was super calm reflecting the bridge and surroundings.
