I guess my ultimate question is why do we put so much emphasis on the holiday, spending time with family, eating a big meal, and being particularly thankful during this one weekend in October when it should be a part of every day of our lives? It's like Valentine's Day - there is major pressure to show someone you love them on that day...but what about the other 364 days of the year? Do you not love them then too, or just on Feb 14?
Back to thankfulness - there are so many things to be thankful for that really shows how much we have, and how much we don't need in order to be happy and satisfied. I was challenged yesterday to be thankful in all circumstances, at all times. Sometimes it's just a matter of perspective and if I look at the situation with the right perspective, I can find something to be thankful for.
Enough rambling...here's a picture from the youth retreat I went on last weekend. Talk about something to be thankful for...the beauty of British Columbia!
