I've camped in tents before, but never slept under the open sky, until this summer. One Saturday in August it was so incredibly hot and I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to sleep under the stars. Being at my parents, this worked fine since they have a nice large lawn in the backyard, and mattresses and blankets to make it more comfortable. The moon was almost full, the sky was clear, and the temperature was perfect. I woke up on Sunday morning to wisps of pink cloud as the sun rose, and found the blankets very damp with dew. It was a great experience.
This past Saturday I went for a hike with my brother and sister-in-law, and members of her family. Talk about exercise! I haven't done anything like that for a long time. The trip up and down was pretty strenuous, but the view from the top was AMAZING! Sometimes it's hard to believe these mountains exist when the clouds are low and the rain is coming down all winter. But they do, and here's the proof.

Mount Baker
Mount Cheam - I've hiked this one before (a few years ago)
Just some of the mountains in the area
